Jonathan is a Solicitor and the Senior Partner of Rowland Tildesley & Harris. He was educated locally and joined the firm in 1977 and was made a partner in 1982. He has extensive experience in Residential and Commercial conveyancing, Inheritance Tax planning, Wills and Probate and Elderly client advice. He acts for private individuals and businesses both locally and nationally and for developer and investor clients. He has dealt with hundreds of property and conveyancing transactions as well as Probate matters including complex Probate transactions including Trust and Inheritance Tax issues.



Surbjit Kumar

Surbjit is a Solicitor and Partner in the firm. Surbjit trained with the firm after completing his Legal Practice Course. He qualified in 2002. He specialises in Property Law including Residential conveyancing, Commercial property transactions, Leases and Business purchases. He has dealt with hundreds of conveyancing transactions since qualifying including freehold and leasehold matters and including small developments. He also has expertise in Landlord and Tenant Law and advises and undertakes Court action in this field. Surbjit speaks Punjabi and is also a Notary Public after having completed his Diploma in Notarial Practice with the University of Cambridge. In his role as a Notary, Surbjit attests documents for use abroad.

Lynsey Smith is a highly experienced lawyer who has been a dedicated member of the firm for over 20 years. Holding an LLB (Hons), PGDip, MA, and MSc, she specialises in private client work with a focus on probate, Wills, lasting powers of attorney, and estate administration. Lynsey is recognised for her calm, client-focused approach, helping individuals and families make confident, informed decisions during often difficult times.

She is an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer, a Dementia Friend, and a Commissioner for Oaths, reflecting her commitment to compassionate and ethical legal practice. Lynsey holds CILEx practice rights in both Probate and Conveyancing, enabling her to manage a wide range of legal matters including sales and purchases, assents, property transfers, and severance of joint tenancies. Her practical knowledge ensures that matters progress efficiently and with minimal stress for clients, even in complex circumstances.

Lynsey is an Affiliate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is currently working towards full membership to further develop her expertise in complex trust and estate planning. She also holds Associate status (ASET) with the Society for Education and Training (SET), recognising her commitment to professional learning and development, particularly in legal education and mentoring.

Qualified in lifelong learning, Lynsey holds both the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) and the Certificate in Education and Training in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CETLLS) qualifications. These reflect her dedication to continuous professional development and her ability to share knowledge effectively with colleagues and clients alike.
